Maintaining the groin area clean should be on every man’s hygiene list.
Because ...
A man's genitals are suffocated by being tucked inside a moist and unventilated area all day. Help them to escape from this torture otherwise, problems will arise.
The groin area may develop bad smells, skin infections, and breakdowns and it becomes a breeding ground for germs development. As a result, in the long run, it hurts your reproductive system's health.
But I suppose that you want to prevent all those negative effects of poor groin hygiene and want to take better care of personal hygiene for men matter. Right?
If so...
Find below the fundamental tips on cleaning the groin area for men.
1. How to properly care for the penis in the toilet
To avoid dripping urine on the underpants, immediately after urinating, gently squeeze the penis at the base with your fingers. This removes any remaining urine from the urethra.
Do this very carefully until you determine the right amount of pressure that works best for you.
After emptying your bladder, dry out the head of your penis. Slide the foreskin towards you and wipe the head with toilet paper or a special sanitary napkin.
2. Clean the smegma from under the foreskin of the penis
Doctors recommend removing the smegma buildup from under the foreskin every day.
Smegma is a natural lubricant that keeps the penis head moist.
If you don’t wash underneath the foreskin, smegma adds up. In a short while, this cheesy buildup starts smelling bad and it becomes a breeding ground for bacteria.
The best way to wash your penis is while showering.
3. Wash the groin while showering
Ideally, to prevent discharge accumulation, you'd wash the head of the penis after each urination.
If that is not possible, do it every single showering.
While showering, pull the foreskin to wash the penis head with warm water to remove the smegma buildup.
Don’t use regular soap to wash the head of the penis because it dries out the mucous membrane. Without it, pulling back the foreskin becomes painful.
The hair growing in the groin area absorbs sweat contributes to releasing a bad smell. So, consider trimming or shaving it.
4. Groin manscaping
Trimming the groin hair leaves a positive impression as a well-cared and well-groomed man.
Short hair is much easier to wash in any condition. They have lower chances to absorb sweat and release unpleasant odors. They do not get pinched by the foreskin and underwear. They do not create an unfavorable microclimate for the testicles. They do not hurt your sexual life.
Though shaving gives you that neat look down there but be aware of the risks of getting nicks and cuts.
Try trimming the groin hair instead of shaving it. It is much safer and painful.
5. Dry out balls with baby powder
Once you’ve dried out downtown, the trick is to keep that sweat away for longer.
Men with excessive sweating are advised to wash the groin area and use baby powder 2-3 times per day. Especially during the hot weather.
In all rest cases, don't use the powder on your balls because it clogs the pores.
The baby powder soaks up the sweat keeping your balls dry during the day.
6. Try out soothing creams
As an alternative to powder, invest in a soothing cream.
These dry out your groin with a cooling tingle. Choose a product that is talc- and aluminum-free.
So, it keeps everything dry without putting any potentially harmful ingredients into your body.
7. Equip yourself with the right underwear
You can’t go wrong with cotton because it's the most breathable fabric and it absorbs and holds sweat.
Cotton or cotton-mixed underwear facilitates air circulation in the crotch area.
Avoid synthetic underwear because it promotes sweating and skin irritation.
8. Don't use flavored products on genitals
The genitals should not smell like flowers.
Timely washed genitals don’t stink.
So, stop torturing your penis by applying excessive perfume, powders, fragrances.
The ingredients from these products clog the pores and they also build up under the foreskin.
Excessive use of these products contributes to the growth of bacteria in the groin area.
